Arrow of Light #2 for #2!!!

We are out of CUB SCOUTS for a 3 year break....but who is keeping track.....???

This is a skit that they did before he got his award... it was "Top Ten Scout Pick k-Up Lines"!!! It was actually really funny....unlike most of the other CHEESY scout skits we have seen over the years!! (No offense cub scouters!)

He is getting ready to pin on the pin.....They made these great ribbon-necklace things that we can put ALL of the pins on that our boys give us!!  I LOVE IT....wish I would have gotten one 5 years ago when cub scouts all started!!

This is a picture #1 took.... I think something is missing.... mmmmm.... what could it be???? AHHHH....I know.... DADS HEAD!!!!  It cracks me up looking at it!!!  The problem is that the camera setting got switched to 'timer' so he thought it wasn't working.... but it was blinking and getting ready to take the picture... so I was trying to get him to aim it at us anyway....We are lucky we even got half of anyone!!

He is getting ready to 'Cross the bridge to SCOUTING'!!! Congratulations Brennan!!  We are glad you worked hard to get your arrow of light!! We are proud or you and we love you!!

America's top 10 underwater housing markets

1. Las Vegas

"Las Vegas was ground zero for the housing market's historic boom and bust. Loose lending standards and speculative fervor helped send home prices surging more than 104% from 2002 to their 2006 peaks, according to Moody's Economy.com. "We all knew in our hearts it was unsustainable and there had to be a correction," says Larry Murphy, the president of SalesTraq. That correction came as the housing bubble popped and the economy tanked: Home prices in Las Vegas fell more than 56% from 2006 to the third quarter of 2009. This steep decline has pulled a vast swath of mortgage borrowers underwater. "If you bought a home in Las Vegas since 2004 up to about 2007, whatever you bought — I don't care if you bought a big house or a little house, in a great neighborhood or a crummy neighborhood — it's worth about half what you paid for it," Murphy says. More than 81% of single-family home mortgages in Las Vegas had negative equity in the fourth quarter of 2009, according to Zillow. And it may take 20 years for some of these home values to climb back to the levels they hit at the peak of the housing boom, Murphy says."

Cousins, Basketball and Redrock!!

Some of my favorite people came to visit us in conjunction with the Mountain West Basketball Conference!!My Uncle Gary and two of his sons, Derek and Dean got to hang out with us last weekend inbetween games!! They are such fun people to be around.  We love it when anyone in their family comes to visit because you are sure to laugh and laugh!!  They were great company and very helpful.  Uncle Gary would have reorganized all of my food storage if I would have let him!! We had some spare time so I took them up to Redrock!  It was a beautiful day and fun to explore the rocks!!  We also went to one of the conference games!  UNLV almost beat San Diego... it was a lot of fun and good to see the REBEL SPIRIT  first hand!!  I love this family so much and am so grateful to be related to them! You guys can come and stay with us ANYTIME!!

Springtime Swim!

The older boys decided to try out the water and see if they could hack the cold!! I thought I would catch it on tape... this is just one of the swims that they did.... !!! It was pretty funny!!! Some little person who was with me watching.... decided that she should dive in to!! I stopped her just in time, but Shane thought I should have let her give it a try!!!

NASCAR JUNKIES!!!

So, the few years we have gotten to be quite the MOTORHEADS!!! We get a lot of FREE tickets to events from Shane's work.... so.... we USE THEM!!! Most of the events have one thing in common.... they are LOUD!!! But our very favorite of all of these events has become NASCAR!!!! WE LOVE IT!!!! Now, I know you all think it is a REDNECK, BEER DRINKING, BORING SPORT.... they just drive around and around and around and around......but we LOVE every minute of it!! #2's favorite driver is Carl Edwards.... we all like him, but he LOVES him.... Anyway, the other day we were in Smith's and #2 was at home.... we saw this stand up poster of Carl and decided to play a little joke on him. #3 and I stood and got a picture with him for proof and then we called him and told him that we 'ran' into him at the grocery store!! Then we sent the picture to #1's phone so he could see it..... He couldn't believe it.... but he fell for it ... hook, line and sinker....!!! He kept saying.... 'Come home and get me'... 'I want to meet him'....!!!! Then, reality sunk in and... he figured out that he had just watched him race in California that day and he couldn't possibly have gotten here that fast!!! He was soo... mad... But it was so... funny!!! The people at the grocery store thought we were CRAZY!#$%&!!Here we are at the Saturday Race... we just couldn't justify the Sunday Race... we were tempted though!!! That darn Satan... he knows how to get us to ALMOST break the rules!!!
We tried to get a picture of Carl's Edwards' car and Danica Patrick's car... but we missed-- they go really fast!!! This is the car Carl drives in the Sprint Cup Series!!! Notice #2 and #4's hats!!! AFLAC!!!

We froze... the race was delayed for 2 hours because of rain... so we sat there watching NOTHING.... in the rain... then it finally started.... about half way through we ended up leaving early to go home and warm up!!! It started raining again... so we figured they would stop it again... as it turned out they were able to finish the race anyway!! In spite of that we had lots of fun!!!

Kindergarden Shots

WOWW!!! I thought taking our tough little four year old to get his shots wouldn't be a big deal....boy was I wrong!!! Our little Boo needed her two year shots as well, so I thought I would have him go first.... thinking that the littlest child would probably cry more and need more comfort!!! He had to get FOUR Shots!! So, the first three shots for him are a little wince and not so bad... then the nurse says in a low voice... 'I give this one last for a reason!' ...And in it goes....He lets out a huge cry and was dropping crocodile tears in a mere instant. He is crying so hard and loud that hugging him became difficult and deafening. He climbs off my lap and goes to the far most corner of the room... trying to put as much distance between himself and that MEAN nurse!! He was really mad at the nurse and kept saying, "That really hurts.... why did you hurt me??? Why do you do that to little boys???" I was trying not to laugh at him and explain that it is to help him not get sick. He kept at it saying, "But I'm not sick, why did you have to hurt me?" The poor nurse felt awful... he wouldn't let up either. I kept telling him that it was okay and that he needed to stop crying, and he just kept saying, "I can't stop crying... it hurts too bad! That is really mean!! Why did you do that?? When is my arm going to get better??" I told him in a couple of days, to which he responded, "A COUPLE DAYS!! My arms are going to hurt for a couple days?? Ohhhh!!!" Then more tears.... all this time, we had little Boo on my lap getting her three shots... she cried for a second... but immediately stopped when she saw the suckers!!! That was FUN!!! At least he got cool bandaids!!

Swimming Lessons

Our bathtub has become the family swimming pool... since it is too cold to swim here (yeah, anything below 100 degrees is too cold for us wimps!!) #2 is showing #5 the ropes!!! How cute are they??? She can already hold her breath under water and look at him in their fancy goggles!!
