Soccer and Kindergarden Graduation for #4!!

 Bub just finished his second season of soccer this spring!  He improved a ton since the first season!!  Now he actually chases the ball and tries to kick it!!  It was fun for Shane to coach his team again!  They won more than half of their games, but they don't really keep score! Hahaha!!! Ya, right!! Those little guys could keep score with their eyes shut!!

 He also graduated from kindergarten!!  Way too fast!!  It's amazing how fast they are all growing!! He did well and learned to read pretty easily.... it was learning to raise his hand that was the bugger!!  He struggled with not calling out and learning to wait his turn!  He loved school and is excited to eat school lunch as a big 1st grader this year!  We are so proud of him and wish he would stop growing up and just stay our sweet little Bub!!

#1 Finished Middle School!!!! 

 I can't believe it - he is starting High School this year!! AHHH!!! That makes me OLD!!!  He got two different awards this year.... He earned STRAIGHT A'S for all THREE YEARS of middle school! Which is quite a feat considering that he had all excellerated classes!!! So the first award he got is the A Honor Roll for 3 years!! Every report card, every class!  WOW!!! Great Job #1!!!   The second award he got, which was a surprise, is the Standards of Saville Award.  It is the same award he got last year... which, we thought took him out of the running for this year.  The entire class of 8th graders is divided into 3 teams that all share the same teachers.  Those teachers collectively pick one boy and one girl from their team who deserve this award.  He got it again this year!!  Way to go #1!!!  You sure are a smarty pants!!

He Did It!!!

#2 made it through the first year of middle school!!! Hurray!!!
He had some serious anxiety about school this year!  School doesn't come as easy to him as do physical activities such as sports and everything else that requires any coordination.  That kid can pick up any physical activity lickedy split and excel's quickly and easily!!!..... Schoolwork....not so much!!!He loves the social aspect of school.... the actual schoolwork, on the other hand, he could do without! In spite of that, he has a great attitude and strives to do his best in all that he does!  He got the award for "Quality Counts!!"  That means that he had quality work in all of his classes and got A's and B's in all of them! And believe me-- he worked really hard for those A's and B's!!!  Afterwards, he was complaining to me about 'only getting the quality count's award'... so I pointed to the greater half of his peers sitting on the side of the gym who didn't get any awards at all and said, "Well, you could be over there with them, where quality DOESN'T count!  We are proud of you regardless of what award you get... as long as you try your best... and we know you do.... that's all that matters!!!" Way to go #2!!!  You made it through 6th grade!!!

He is also turning into a mighty hunter~!!  He got a live trap for his birthday, which got stolen the next day, by some mean lady on a horse!!  We were able to get him another one that he has used a ton to capture little squirrels in the field.  We went and got some chains and padlocks to lock it up so the horse-thief couldn't steal it again!  He doesn't hurt the little squirrels.... just catches them and then sets them free!  The fun is in the quest I guess.... There are actually about 20-30 pictures of this cute little fella, I chose some of the best ones to put on here!!! There is always something exciting happening with our #2-- never a dull moment!!

Howdy Partner!!

#4 Turned SIX!!! Holy cow!!

He is going to be a first grader this year and is growing up way too fast!!

He has been DYING to have a friend birthday party....so after much deciding and debating

 he picked the theme of COWBOYS!!  We had so much fun!!  We dressed everyone up in hats, bandana's, sherriff badges, and gave them water guns and a money bag.  The first thing we did was a snake hunt (thanks Aunt Carrie for the idea)- we live right across from an open field... so hiding 200 rubber snakes was super fun, they had a great time finding them in all of the squirrel holes. They also found a real lizard!  Then, while they were hunting for snakes we sounded an "alarm that called for all of the sherriff's in town.... two BANDITS were on the loose.... they had just robbed the local bank, we needed the sherriff's to recover the money, to chase the bandits down and arrest them!"  We had #1 and #2 dress in black and run around the field dropping money as they went.  The kids had a great time finding money all over the field and chasing the BANDITS!!  They eventually caught them and arrested them!!  They were the cutest little bunch of sherriff's in the county!!

He was also the MC for the evening.... glad he was able to be funny and keep everyone laughing in between numbers!  The kids were so AWESOME!! They did so well!! #3 sang a solo and did an AWESOME JOB!!!  She was super scared and didn't really want to do it-- then afterwards... she said-- she wants a bigger solo next time!!  What fun!!
