The Polar Express Christmas Show!!

As most of you know- I started a Dancing and Singing group this September.  They are called the Dance-Sing Sensations!! We had our Christmas Show the 16th of December- Up until that point... all I thought about and did was DANCE-SING STUFF!!! It was crazy!  The stage at the church had white walls, so, because I chose to decorate with snowflakes--  I decided to cover it with black paper!  That was a huge feat!  Luckily, two ladies came and helped me and saved me tons of blood, sweat and tears!!  It only took us about four hours!! The dress rehearsal was..... hmmmmm... a fiasco!! I will definately re-work that next time!!  Because of that, I was pretty nervous for how our performance would turn out!  Having 46 little kids at the church for over two hours was pretty rough!!  But, they always say a bad dress rehearsal makes for a great performance!! That night, the turn out was MUCH larger than expected!  We put up about 100 chairs--- which was easily doubled as people arrived and put up more. The entire half of the stake center gym was packed!  There was standing room only. We even had a professional cameraman there to tape the show and make DVD's! The 3& 4 year olds were hilarious!! They were so cute and so fun to watch-- they stold the show!!! Each of my three classes did a fast dance & singing number, a slow singing only number and all classes participated in the finale-- It was so much fun to watch them perform and show off thier talents!  The show was great!  It turned out wonderfully!  Here are some pictures so you can see how cute they were!!

Now- I get to prepare for the Spring Performance!!! I love it!!!

Where did November and December go??

They were spent watching two boys play football non-Stop!  They both love it and  had great seasons! #1's team almost made it to the Championship game- where- if they won-  they would have been able to walk onto the field at the recently held Maaco Bowl here in Vegas!! Bummer - they had a great season and he had a great time playing.  He played line backer and defensive end and did a great job!  #2's season was a little tougher - he played running back and reciever. Which, he is great at! They won 3 and lost 6 games :-( !! It was not for lack of effort however!  Either way- we love going and supporting them and watching them play football!  I just need a better lens for my camera so I can get some closer action shots! 

 We went to Boise over Thanksgiving- and took the oldest 4 kids skiing at my old stomping grounds-  Bogus Basin!  It was a blast!  Shane and I hadn't been to Bogus since we went 16 years ago- when we weren't even engaged yet!  It was fun to take the kids and show them where I used to spend many many Saturdays skiing!  The older boys have been skiing before-- but it was the first time for #3 & #4- They both picked it up quickly and were pros in no time!  The temperature was 18 degrees!  That is pretty cold for us Las Vegas wimps! But we all managed to stay pretty warm!  We had so much fun! #4 kept saying- "If I am skiing this good, and I am only 5- when I am 11... I am going to be the BOMB!!!" Not much humility in that kid!  His older brothers have taught him well!!

 One Saturday afternoon- while we were having a crazy FLY outbreak here in Vegas-- Shane decided to make a bunch of rubberband guns for the kids - so they could shoot rubberbands at the fly's!  Here they are with their proud creations!! They actually did help lower our fly population quite well!!!  They got pretty good at hitting those stinking bugs!!

 This is #1 on NERD day!! He looked pretty awesome!! He let me put an Alfalfa Sprout in his hair! All nerded out!!!

This is Thanksgiving with the Boise crowd!! The food is always delicious and the company is pretty great too!!!  The kids loved playing in the snow and seeing Grandma and Grandpa and Cool Aunt K!!  Aunt T and Uncle C were there too!!

 #3 was in an Orchestra Group that played at several different events for Christmas! It was one of the highlights of my Christmas season! I loved hearing them play the Christmas carols with their violins and harps!  We also went to a LIVE Nativity that she performed at-- It was really neat! Very well done! Seeing the Nativity performed by live people in costume and character really makes it more special!  It was very touching!

Merry Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year!  We have been so blessed this year!  We are most grateful for our knowledge of the gospel and our testimonies of our Savior!  I hope to do a 'real' update soon on all of the great things that have been keeping us so busy!!
